I gave all the kids in her class a helium balloon. I read the poem to the kids, and then they all closed their eyes to let the balloons go and made a wish. I've been worried about friendships for Lisa. I "pushed" a friendship between her and a child in her classroom. They talk on the phone after school everyday and Joshua told everyone in the classroom that he's the father of Lisa's doll Charles. It's a really cute relationship... Lisa has developed a friendship with a child in the neighborhood on her own. He is ADD, and visits his grandmother's house frequently (next door neighbor). They always talked at the fence. I didn't think too much of it until yesterday. Lisa just learned how to open the gate in front of our house - we have a fence around the front and the latch is high on the gate. I went outside to water plants and she had "escaped" but was playing on the sidewalk with Gabriel. She went inside and Gabriel came back over and started calling for her. Reyna (age 5) was outside, but Gabriel wanted Lisa! Lisa went back outside and brought her 3 wheel bike (Gabriel had his two wheeler). They played together for awhile and then Lisa came over and showed me a ring that Gabriel had given to her. Gabriel told her he'd see her tomorrow and she said, okay, bye Gabriel. It made me realize that I need to start letting Lisa grow up. Stop trying to "give" her a life and let her have one. If you saw Lisa's first page - remember the "bonding" I talked about. This is a hard stage! Lisa's First Page on the internet (3 years ago) Contact: webwizard@theriver.com |
